History

History is elusive; when past, it hides. Thanks to the Boca Raton Historical Society and Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum for carefully managing an important and large collection of historical artifacts, information and details of the area’s past.

Visiting the museum and/or attending one of their many events is a great way to learn more about the area. Be sure to watch for the Historical Society’s Boca Raton Centennial Festivities next year. You will find that the more you learn, the more you will feel a part of the area and it will feel a part of you.

Here is a link to the Society’s website: History Museum in Boca Raton | Boca Raton Historical Society (bocahistory.org) Thanks to William Sun, for compiling this history, and to Mac Johnson for his editorial support.

Thanks also to Keith Nelson for photos and research material. Thanks to Susan Gillis, Curator at the Boca Raton Historical Society. Without her help, this project would not have been possible.
